Arts & Crafts Lamps

The bases are made from Red Oak.
They have been fumed and stained in the A&C tradition. The shades are
made by wife who is an artisan in her own right.
Arts
& Crafts Style Entertainment Center
CD players have changed the form of entertainment
centers. This simple technology
means we no longer need a wall-full of equipment when a small cabinet will do
the job. This one resides in an A&C bungalow in Asheville, NC.
The customer gets all of the credit for the design including the Greene
& Greene influence (cloud lift) feet that make the piece seem to float in
mid-air. Made from poplar and
stained to look like cherry.

This is a detail of one of the drawers on the same entertainment
center. They are CD holders.
The apparent color difference is due to the photo.
Bookcases
I can and have made any number of different bookcases. This one is made of fumed
red oak.
This bookcase is custom designed to contain a collection of
art books. It is in two pieces to add future versatility and make it easier to
move. The bottom shelf is 18 inches tall to accommodate over size poster books.
The top shelf is only 6 inches for tiny books. The top three shelves are
adjustable.

Toy Chest
It is made from plywood and poplar and has special hinges to keep
the lid from smashing small fingers. The lid must be pushed closed.
